Piedmont Residential Completes Lean Blitz Program

On April 2, 2010 Piedmont Residential completed the final week of their Lean Blitz program. This several week process enabled the company to review and assess inefficiencies in the company which can potentially cause problems with vendor partners. The home building process is based heavily on scheduling and keeping required inspections on target. Any setbacks in the process cause the rescheduling of vendors and extend the anticipated completion date.

During the last week of Lean Blitz each vendor partner was given fifty minutes of time to review items critical to their success in assisting Piedmont Residential to build homes. During the allotted time the vendor would discuss purchase orders, scheduling, return trips and areas for improvement. Ultimately the goal of Lean Blitz is to save money and create efficiencies necessary to build the highest quality new home possible.
